Memorize a Scope
If you have a filter in place, or have tagged a list of names and wish to save that list for future use, you may want to memorize your current scope. To do this:
- Click the "Filter" button (it looks like a green funnel).
- If you used "Tags" then Silent Partner will ask you if you wish to "Set Filter to Tagged Names"; click OK, then press the Filter button again.
- Now click on the "Memorize scope..." button
- Give the scope a "code" up to 10 characters long, then you can type out a longer description of what the scope is below
- (You are also able to import a scope using the "Import from text file" in the line below)
- Then click OK
- You can Restore this scope at any time using the "Restore scope..." button on the Filter window.
Run a Saved Query
- Press the "Filter" button (Or Edit → Filters & Queries → Create Filter)
- Ensure you are in the correct table and subsection – based on where the query is saved and what it is searching for
- Tab 1 - Donor Table allows you to query information about the donor or mailings
- Tab 2 - Other Tables is generally for queries that involve donations
- Press the "Query..." button
- Search for the appropriate query
- Tip: Ensure the Saved queries column header is highlighted (double-click on it if it's not) THEN type in the query name you’re looking for
- Once you've found the query you’re looking for, highlight it and click the "Run query" button
- Silent Partner will automatically search for the criteria the query requests and the results will be presented in the donor data screen
