User-Defined Codes in Silent Partner
User-defined codes are a function of further donor categorization in Silent Partner, in addition to Mail Codes and Category Codes.
User-defined codes would come in handy if you would like to introduce various levels of partnership/supporters/projects, categorize the donors' occupations/fields of activity, and so forth.
In Silent Partner Desktop, open your Donors area, select a donor and double-click their record.
Select the 2. Contact tab, and in the bottom right corner, you will see User-defined code 1, 2, and 3. In this example, we have used code 1 and entered data.
User-defined code 1 and 2 are free text fields, i.e. you can put any text/values there; User-defined code 3, on the other hand, has a look-up list, and you can only assign 1 code from this look-up list to a donor. You can view the entire User-defined code 3 look-up table by clicking the magnifying glass, or by visiting Codes > User-defined 3 codes:
You can also add new options to this look-up or delete those that are not in use (not attached to any donor records).
You can change the names of the codes under
Maintenance > Miscellaneous items > User-defined code names:
In our example, we have renamed them to "Qualification", "Ask Amount" and "Status":
It's also possible to run queries for donors with these codes, as well as use the Bulk Replace function to add/delete/replace all the 3 types of user-defined codes (
How to use Bulk Replace):
If you're using Silent Partner Cloud, once you sync, the user-defined codes will appear in the Cloud CRM:
Now from the Cloud, you will be able to search for these donors, by adding the columns with the user-defined codes and using the filter on the grid:
The user-defined codes will appear in the donor record itself and can be edited in the Cloud as well:
