Over time the information stored on donor records can get messy or becomes outdated making it difficult to work with your data. Bulk Replace is a feature of Silent Partner that allows you to add, delete or remove information from multiple records at the same time.
With Bulk Replace, you can change Owner Codes, Last mailing dates, Category Codes, Donor Type, Receipt Preference, Communication Method, and much more.
There are two basic steps to using Bulk Replace: create a scope of the records you need to change, and changing them.
Your Bulk Replace options will be different depending on the Data Item you select. For example, when you select Communication Method you can only change whatever is currently in the communication method field with your new selection. For Connectors, however, you can either Add a new connector or Delete your selected connector.
First - create a Scope of records to change.
Bulk Replace (Communication Method)
- To access the Bulk Replace feature, go to Edit > Bulk Replace
- Scroll through the list of available options and select "Communication Method" and then click "Continue"
- Next, click the magnifying glass to select the communication method you want to apply to the records in your scope, then click OK.
- Click Appy and when you get the "Are you sure?" message click OK.
Bulk Replace (edit) Connectors
- To access the Bulk Replace feature, go to Edit > Bulk Replace
- Scroll through the list of available options and select "Connectors" and then click "Continue"
- If you are adding a new Connector to the donors' records, select "Add it to all donors in scope." If you are deleting a Connector from the donors' records, select "Delete it from donors in scope." Click OK.
- Next, click the magnifying glass to select the Connector you want to add or delete.
- Click Appy and when you get the "Are you sure?" message click OK.
