Add a Thermometer to Your Glass Register Donation Webform
Overview
The Thermometer is a powerful social proof tool in Glass Register that visually displays your fundraising progress toward a campaign goal. It motivates donors by showing real-time contributions, including optional offsets for external gifts. This feature integrates seamlessly with your donation forms to build trust and urgency.
This guide walks you through adding and configuring a Thermometer in your Glass Register dashboard. Prerequisites: You must have admin access to your Glass Register account and an active donation webform.
Part 1: Adding and Configuring the Thermometer
Adding a Thermometer
- Log In to Glass Register: Access your Glass Register dashboard via glassregister.societ.com.
- Navigate to Donation Forms: In the left-hand navigation panel, click Donation Forms.
- Access Social Proof: Within the Donation Forms section, click the Social Proof button.
- Create New Social Proof: Click New Social Proof to open the creation wizard.
- Select Thermometer Type: From the available options, select Thermometer. This will launch the configuration panel.

Configuring the Thermometer
Once added, customize your Thermometer to match your campaign branding and goals:
- Enter a Campaign Name: Provide a descriptive name for internal reference (e.g., "Year-End Campaign"). This name is not visible to donors.
- Adjust Colors: Use the color picker to set the fill color (for progress) and background color. Match your organization's branding for a cohesive look.
- Set the Campaign Goal: Input the total monetary goal (e.g., $50,000). The Thermometer will automatically update progress toward your goal based on the donations received through your Glass Register form!
- Add Offset Amount (Optional): If you've received gifts from outside sources (e.g., matching grants or offline donations), enter the amount here. This boosts the starting progress without requiring form submissions.
- Select Forms to Include: Choose one or more donation forms to contribute to this thermometer. Only donations from these forms will contribute to the thermometer's progress.
- Save and Preview: Click Save to apply changes. Use the Preview button to view how the thermometer appears on your live forms. It will display as a dynamic progress bar with current total, goal, and percentage.

Part 2: Embedding the Thermometer on a Website
Follow these steps to embed the Thermometer.
- Click the Embed button
- Select Thermometer: This will launch the Embed panel.
- Choose Your Thermometer: From the dropdown “Choose one thermometer to embed”, select your configured Thermometer.
- Script 1: Copy and paste within the <head> or before closing the </body> tag.
- Script 2: Copy and paste within the <body> tag, where you want the thermometer to appear.
- Click Done
Real-Time Updates: The thermometer refreshes automatically as donations are processed.
