How to record skills for your board members

It is important to record the different skills and qualifications for each of your board members. It's a great way to easily see where your board is strong, or identify any skill gaps to plan board training, or look for additional board members. My Board View allows you to easily add the different skills you need, then tag board members with the skills they have today.

Start by creating the list of skills you need. Click "Board Configuration," then click "Add Skill."

Enter the description of a skill (e.g. Legal or Law, Finance or Accounting, Strategic Planning, Governance, Human Resources, etc.). Click "Save" to save the new skill.

Continue adding skills until your list is complete.

Once you've created your list of skills, start tagging board members with the skills they have today! Click "Board Members" then click a board member's name to open their profile.

Click the pencil icon to edit the board member's profile.

In the "Skills" field, select the skills this board member has from the drop-down. Once done, click "Save."

Now, whenever you view that board member's profile, you can easily see their skills!

Continue these steps to add skills for each of your board members.
