Stripe Payout Schedule

Stripe Payout Schedule

For all donations received through your Glass Register donation forms, you will receive this money deposited into your bank account based on Stripe's payout schedule. Here's how it works:
  1. The donor enters their donation info into the Glass Register donation form on your site.
  2. The payment details are sent to your Stripe account.
  3. Once the money is in your Stripe account, Stripe will deposit it into your bank account according to their payout schedule.
Check out this help article in Stripe's documentation on Payout Schedules to learn more about when you can expect to receive money in your bank account.

Managing Your Stripe Payouts

If you have received donations through your Glass Register donation form, but you are not seeing these payouts deposited into your bank account, this is commonly due to one of the following reasons:

1. Initial Waiting Period for First Payout

When you process your very first live donation, Stripe typically holds that first payout for 7–14 days. This one-time delay gives Stripe time to verify your business information, confirm your bank details, and mitigate risk. Subsequent payouts will follow your regular schedule once this initial hold is complete.

2. Pending Account Verification

If your payout date keeps getting pushed out, Stripe may still be waiting on verification information:
  1. Check your Stripe Dashboard notifications and your email for requests.
  2. Complete any outstanding tasks under Business Settings → Account Details → Requirements in your Stripe Dashboard to clear holds.

3. Payout Schedule Settings

Stripe lets you choose how payouts run:
  • Automatic: Funds are sent on a set interval (daily, weekly, or monthly).

  • Manual: No automatic transfers—you must initiate each payout yourself via the Stripe Dashboard or API.

If you have not received any payouts, your Stripe account may be set to Manual Payouts. To review or change this, log into Stripe and go to Dashboard → Settings → Payout scheduleTo change your payout schedule from manual to automatic, select your preferred schedule:
  1. Daily: Receive funds every business day
  2. Weekly: Choose a specific day of the week
  3. Monthly: Select a specific day of the month
After selecting your preferred schedule, click "Save" to apply the changes.

If you're currently on manual payouts, switching to an automatic schedule will ensure your available balance is regularly transferred to your bank account without requiring manual action.

4. Bank Processing Times

Once Stripe hands off a payout to your bank, it can take up to 5 business days for the deposit to clear, especially around weekends or holidays. If your payout is fewer than 5 business days old, your bank may still be processing it.

5. Incorrect or Changed Bank Details

  • Updating details mid-transfer: If you change your bank account after a payout has been initiated, the funds go to your previous account.

  • Typos or closed accounts: If your bank rejects the transfer, it’s returned to your Stripe balance.

Always double-check your routing and account numbers in Stripe under Dashboard → Settings → Bank accounts and re-initiate the payout if needed.

6. Failed or Paused Payouts

  • Failed: Your bank couldn’t accept the transfer. Stripe returns the funds to your balance—check the failure reason in your Stripe Dashboard.

  • Paused: Outstanding compliance or tax requirements (e.g., W-9/W-8 forms) can pause payouts until they’re completed. Once you submit the required information, payouts typically resume within two business days.

If you’ve checked the above and still haven’t received your funds after the expected timelines, provide your payout’s trace ID (found on the individual payout page in your Stripe Dashboard) to your bank, or contact Stripe Support for assistance.
